Quality is what we want!

The international competition of look&roll is the result of an exhaustive selection process, that facilitates a long lasting impact to all contributions. The best shorts out of our festival programmes will be screened many times in different locations of Switzerlan and abroad.

The look&roll Awards amount to at least  CHF 15'000.- (approx. 12000.- EURO  /16'000.- US$).  Contributions to the international competition may also generate to their rights' owners royalties for the inclusion to one of our DVD-compilations BEST OF LOOK&ROLL, as well as for screenings in the framework of our many "On the road"-screenings.

About 10 international guests will be invited to the festival. For those who cannot get their presence funded from elsewhere, look&roll will pay for travel expenses and accomodation.

The festival undertakes manifold steps to open its events for as many people as possible. Captioning in German and French for the deaf and the production of audiodesciption files keep the films available for further use after the festival. In order to justify these efforts, we expect only really outstanding films meeting the following requirements:

- highly authentic
- a great story
- professionally produced
- a deep respect for the disabled
- a runtime of less than 35 minutes
- no fundraising or image clips from organisations and institutions

For our first preview and pre-selection please send us a link on any online-edition or a screener on DVD (PAL!) with subtitles in English or German (or, for films with English dialogues and no subtitles: a dialogue list) to:

In the previewing sessions we select a short list of about 80-100 films. Out of these, the programming commission finally selects the contributions for the international competition of look&roll. The programming session for look&roll 2014 will be held in November 2013. Deadline for entries is October 31, 2013.

The selected contributions will be invited officially. They will then also receive the festival regulations. Only when the rights' holder has agreed in written to the regulations, the film is officially part of the festival.
