The face of an elderly woman looking into the camera

On October 2nd, 1944, my grandmother, then a fourteen-year-old girl, saw how her father, along with 658 other men, was deported by train from their village in Putten, the Netherlands. He never came back. Now she is 86 years old and the only member of her family still alive. While my grandmother shares her memories, we look into the eyes of girls who are fourteen years old now, full of stories of their own and with their open glance forward.
